Beyond the Backyard, with locations in Festus and Farmington, aims to meet all your outdoor shelter needs.
The business offers portable buildings, pole barns, garages, carports, utility sheds, garden sheds, cabins, tiny homes, and other storage solutions.
Jason and Shawna Gaither opened their first Beyond the Backyard at 4761 Flat River Road in Farmington in 2017 and expanded to a second location at 2479 Hwy. 67, south of Festus, a year and a half ago. Jason, 31, and Shawna, 30, live with their six children in Farmington.
Shawna said the couple’s youth belies a level of experience that other dealers may not have. She noted that Jason grew up helping in his family’s portable building business. This has given him knowledge of the proper craftsmanship that is required to make a building last.
Beyond the Backyard has a wide variety of buildings to choose from, with 75-100 buildings ready for purchase at any time.
Products can usually be delivered to the customer’s home within a week. Larger structures, such as a garage or pole barn, are built onsite at the customer’s home.
Shawna said the business’s customer service sets it apart.
“We don’t care about just making the sale. We want to find the solution that’s best for each customer, whether it’s best for us or not,” she said. “Some people just want to make the largest sale and that’s not us because that may not be best for the customer.”
Beyond the Backyard also has various payment options to fit different budgets, such as financing and rent-to-own, with no credit checks.
