For those buying a home, B.F. Mahn & Sons can inspect plumbing to identify potential problems, such as leaks, old pipes and poor water pressure, Mahn said.
“Finding these things can help avoid costly repairs,” she said.
The business offers fixture upgrades, bathroom and kitchen remodels, professional drain cleaning and sewer line inspections, clearing and replacement. It offers garbage disposal and water heater services as well.
On the HVAC side, the company offer complete system inspections and preventative maintenance. It offers thermostat replacement and duct cleaning, and it can help improve indoor air quality and efficiency. If a customer needs an upgrade, B.F. B.F. Mahn & Sons has been housed in the same two-story brick building at 112 W. Clement in De Soto since it opened in 1868.
Mahn said B.F. Mahn & Sons is the oldest continuously operating business in Jefferson County. It evolved from a horse and carriage blacksmith shop to a plumbing and HVAC services business.

The company, which is bonded and insured, has 30 employees.
