Eureka business owners, residents and organizations will not let the city’s annual Scarecrow Festival disappear.

New members on the Scarecrow Festival creative team built the event’s tallest scarecrow, which came by its name in a unique way.

More than 200 scarecrows will appear in Eureka for the eighth annual Scarecrow Festival this year, which will run Oct. 1-31.
