Wilbur Haynes Hale, 80, of Festus died April 29, 2021, at his home. Mr. Hale worked as a porter for General Motors for 26 years. He was a member of Coon Hunters Club and Peace Tabernacle in Hillsboro. Born Jan. 21, 1941, in Dorena, he was the son of the late Elton Hale and Gertie (Hale) Simpkins. He was preceded in death by his wife: Thea (Miller) Hale.
He is survived by three brothers: Donnie (Jane) Wolford of Sikeston, Jim (Linda) Simpkins of Louisville, Ky., and Elton Hale of Forrest City, Ark.; two sisters: Arvella (Charles) Brown of East Prairie and Connie (Jerry) Moore of Festus; and a daughter: Vicky (Mike) Dickerson of Festus.
He was preceded in death by a sister: Patsy Grogan; and several other family members and friends.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus, officiated by Rudy Theisson. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Peace Tabernacle Building Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
