Russell Lowell Watz, 86, of Festus died Jan. 12, 2022, at Festus Manor. Mr. Watz worked as an ironworker with Local 396. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2674 in Ste. Genevieve and the Meramec Eagles 3678 in Arnold. He enjoyed cutting grass, collecting antique tractors, collecting guns, junking and spending time with family. Born June 27, 1935, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Evelyn (Bullis) and Frank Watz Sr.
He is survived by six children: Christine (Chris) Guise of Springfield, Victoria (Tom) Hogan of Mequon, Wis., Richard (Lisa) Watz of Festus, Jeffrey (Patricia) Watz of Ste. Genevieve, Steven (Rhonda) Watz of Arnold and Timothy (Corinne) Watz of Imperial; a brother: Frank Watz Jr. of Festus; a sister: Nadine Vischjon of Arnold; nine grandchildren: Sarah, Travis, Tyler, Cody, Emily, Kyle, Brendan, Michayla and Abby; a great-granddaughter: Kira; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until a service at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins, in Festus, officiated by Deacon Jerry Stoverink. Burial is in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Herculaneum. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Okla., 73123. Arrangements are under the direction of Twin City Chapel.
