Oscar Leroy Womack, 83, of Arnold died Dec. 15, 2015, in St. Louis. Mr. Womack was a machine operator for a box manufacturing company and a U.S. Army veteran.
Born Nov. 10, 1932, in Van Buren, he was the son of the late Thomas and Sarah (House) Womack.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley T. (Tilley) Womack; three sons: Mike Womack of Arnold, Kenneth (Cheryle) Womack of St. Louis and Alvin Womack of Arnold; one daughter: Sharon (Tommie) Nickless of Pevely; 14 grandchildren: Dawn, Christopher, Joseph, Jaimie, Jennifer, Krystal, Timothy, Kimberly, Joshua, Justin, Chrisse, Jesse, Adam and Nathan; 12 great-grandchildren; six brothers: Jim (Kathy) Womack of Arnold, Johnnie (Barb) Womack of Imperial, Donnie (Mary) Womack of Imperial, Paul (Rose) Womack of O’Fallon, and Elmer Womack and William Womack, both of Van Buren; three sisters: Betty (Joe) Doris of Van Buren, Geneva (Kenneth) Ponder of St. Peters and Martha Heckenberg of Imperial.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Larry, Jerry and Jasper Womack.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 20, at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21, at the funeral home, with Pastor Boyd Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks.
