Hagen, Mark

Officer Mark Hagen, 55, of De Soto died Aug. 8, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Officer Hagen worked for Dyna Corp. (International Narcotics Law Enforcement), serving in Afghanistan for four years. He started his 32-year law enforcement career in 1985 with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, and over 20 years rose to the rank of lieutenant. He also worked for the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department and the Hillsboro Police Department. He also loved to fish, hunt, play golf and watch sports, and was especially happy to watch his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series. Born May 12, 1962, he was the son of the late Donald Hagen and Juanita Brown.

He is survived by his wife: Dixie Hagen of De Soto; four sons: Shilo (Ashley) Guthrie of Sikeston, Wayne (Jennifer) Guthrie of Sikeston, Wyatt (Ryan) Guthrie of Kansas City and Zed (Amina) Hagen of Rhode Island; a daughter: Lauren (Jon) Wells of Washington state; eight grandchildren: Rylee, Iman, Shyanne, Izzah, Cali, Ibraham, Asher and Rexon; a brother: Jim (Ann) Hagen of Deadwood, S.D.; and a sister: Vangie (Jimmy) Jones of Sikeston.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Donald Hagen and Richard Hagen.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at the Jaycee Rodeo Barn in Sikeston. Memorials may be made to any charity benefitting law enforcement. Arrangements were under the direction of Bell Funeral Home in Pacific.
