Robert Dennis “Bob” Coaley, 71, of Herculaneum died July 2, 2023, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia. Mr. Coaley was a jack-of-all-trades who worked a number of jobs, including produce manager for Kroger, truck driver and oil rig worker. Later in life, he owned his own business, which he sold when he retired. Growing up, he was a natural athlete and loved to draw. He was passionate about hunting and fishing and enjoyed countless evenings with family and friends around a bonfire after a day of adventures on his farm
He will be remembered as a quiet and independent person with a compassionate heart and an enduring smile whose bright blue eyes sparkled when he displayed his sly sense of humor and quick wit. Born Aug. 29, 1951, in Pevely, he was the son of the late Orville “Dink” and Evelyn “Nita” Coaley. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Patty.
He is survived by a sister: Cindy; a brother: Chris; and several siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Orville James “Jim” and Daniel Lynn “Danny” Coaley.
A celebration of life will be held later. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements were under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
