Susan Jane Duncan, 72, of Crystal City died Aug. 16, 2025, at her home. Ms. Duncan worked as a counselor and human resources trainer, retiring from Lutheran Senior Services in St. Louis. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City and a St. Vincent dePaul Society volunteer. She also was a current Crystal City Public Library Board member and a member of the Crystal City Book Club. She was a quilter, cat lover, doting aunt, avid reader, eager traveler and caregiver for her mom and aunt. Born Feb. 13, 1953, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy Mae (Murphy) and Perry Donnell Duncan.
She is survived by a sister: Mary Kay (the late Paul) Wolfe of St. Charles; a sister-in-law: Lynn Duncan of Chesterfield; and a niece: Katie Duncan of St. Charles.
She was preceded in death by a brother: David Duncan.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 555 Bailey Road, in Crystal City, officiated by Father Mike Coleman of Columbia. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Ozark Food Pantry, St. Vincent dePaul Society at Sacred Heart Church, Crystal City Public Library or the Humane Society of Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
