Samantha Q. “Sammy” Edwards, 8, of Eureka died March 24, 2026. Sammy was a student at Blevins Elementary School, where she enjoyed playing on the swings, spinning and playing learning games. She was also a member of the Rooftop Church Rooftots Children’s Ministry. She was known to be full of smiles and had a love for music. She especially loved Elmo and would set off on adventures around the house in search of the TV remote, hoping to be rewarded with her favorite learning and singing shows. She had a playful spirit, loved piggyback rides and being playfully tossed into bed. She enjoyed games with her family, hiding under blankets, giggling and encouraging others to wrap her up and hide again. She was very determined, and those closest to her knew she often understood more than she was able to express. She also loved the feeling of the wind, something her family will always notice and remember as a quiet reminder of her. Born Nov. 5, 2017, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Nathan and Terra (Buesking) Edwards.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister: Morgan Edwards; grandparents: James Edwards, Robin Buesking and partner Mark VanOsdol; two aunts: Kim Pace and Stephanie Edwards; an uncle: Derek Buesking; a cousin: Chloe Keyes; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by grandparents: Maria Edwards and Robert “Bob” Buesking.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, with a reception to follow at Rooftop Community Church, 9217 Gravois Road, in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the Coffin-Siris Syndrome Foundation and Ranken Jordan Pediatric Bridge Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
