Raymond Roy Rider Jr., 74, of Pevely died May 9, 2024, at Kindred Hospital South in St. Louis County. Mr. Rider was the former scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 450 of Arnold. Born Nov. 6, 1949, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late Betty (Jeffries) and Raymond Roy Rider Sr.
He is survived by his wife: Geraldine (Beauchamp) Rider; three children: David Lowry of Pinckneyville, Ill., Joseph (Kathy) Lowry of Perryville and Jennifer Rider of Festus; nine grandchildren: Jessica (Arnulfo) Tejada, Brian (Ma-Kenzie) Lowry, Christopher Rider, Cody Rider, Emily Rider, Sadie Lowry, Grayson Lowry, Alice Seabaugh and Christopher Seabaugh; and four great-grandchildren: Madison Tejada, Giovanni Tejada, Raelynn Lowry and Avery Lowry.
He was preceded in death by a son: Christopher (Michel survives of De Soto) Rider; and a brother: Steven Rider.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Vinyard Funeral Home Hillcrest, 9115 Commercial Blvd., in Pevely. Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 450. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home Hillcrest.
