Pamela Sue Caine, 66, of Hillsboro died Sept. 2, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Caine was a retired officer for probation and parole. Born April 25, 1960, in Topeka, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Bill and Mary (Cole) Lay.
She is survived by her husband: Dennis Caine of Hillsboro; a child: Magan (Michael) Buck of Hillsboro; two grandchildren: Colton and Charley; a sister: Laura (Daniel) Otten of Arnold; a brother: Allen Lay of Farmington; two sisters-in-law: Sally Lay of Hillsboro and Donnie Eubanks of De Soto; and a brother-in-law: Alan (Mary) Caine of De Soto.
She was preceded in death by three sisters: Deborah Lay, Annette Lay and Janet Mendenhall; a brother: Stanley Lay; and two brothers-in-law: Larry Mendenhall and Gary Eubanks.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Interment is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, in Peaceful Ridge Mausoleum in De Soto. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
