Norman L. Sloan, 88, of De Soto died Feb. 19, 2026, at Hillcrest Care Center in De Soto. Mr. Sloan was a machinist at McDonnell Douglas. Born Feb. 27, 1937, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Inez (Stell) and Everett Sloan.
He was preceded in death by two wives: Wilma Jane (Dodson) Sloan and Mary Lou (Schlett) Sloan.
He is survived by two children: Sue (Steve) Kingsland of De Soto and Gary (Marci) Sloan of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren: Stephanie Kingsland, Sarah (Brett) Thompson, Kari (Eric) Hanson, Amber Sloan, Leilani Sloan, Ariel McPherson and Amber McPherson; and three great-grandchildren: Elliott Thompson, Lilliana Hanson and Callen Hanson.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., in De Soto. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Ware. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1990 Grace Way, De Soto, 63020. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home.
