Maxcine (Stewart) Rees, 86, of High Ridge died Oct. 2, 2026, in Fenton. Mrs. Rees loved gardening, camping and fishing. A passionate sports fan, she cheered on the Cardinals and Blues, enjoyed watching NASCAR and just about any sport she could find. She also loved country music and, most of all, spending time with family, especially around the table playing board games. She will be remembered for her warmth, enthusiasm and love for those around her. Born April 3, 1940, in Potosi, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Edna (Moore) Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John Rees.
She is survived by two children: Michael (Bonnie) Rees and Nancy (Jim) Chappell; a daughter-in-law: Tara (Dana Devlin) Rees; four grandchildren: Madison (Dustin) Landrum, Carson (Allisann) Rees, Maxwell Chappell and Makenna Chappell; a brother: Ernest Westley Stewart; and numerous other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death a son: Brian Rees; and a sister-in-law: Bernadine Stewart.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until a funeral service at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org/. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
