LaVerne Lois (Kraus) Glandt, 88, of Eureka died Oct. 25, 2023. Mrs. Glandt was one of eight children and often cared for her siblings and helped with the family business, Valley Mount Ranch. She enjoyed spending time with family, attending lunch with friends and feeding and watching the birds. Born Jan. 8, 1935, she was the daughter of Frieda (Scherer) and Ben Kraus. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years: Nils Glandt.
She is survived by three children: Todd (Lisa) Glandt, Rene (Jeff) Heibeck and Kim (Stuart) Stark; eight grandchildren: Samantha (Aaron Mueller) Jones, Alexis Schmelz, Stephanie Glandt, Phoebe Heibeck, Olivia Heibeck, Garret Heibeck, Kali (Keaton) Keenum and Chad Kiebler; ten great-grandchildren: Dylan Jones, Aria Jones, Cecilia Mueller, Genevieve Mueller, Hunter Schmelz, Levi Schmelz, Sullivan Dempsey, Auggie Keenum, Henrietta Keenum and Everett Keenum; and four sisters: Gerry Collins, Norita Henderson, Dottye Goodspeed and Sheila Chipman.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Shirley Bothman; and two brothers: Darwin and Eugene Kraus.
A celebration of life is scheduled from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at Brookdale Farms, 8004 Twin River Road, in Eureka. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to the World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
