Kathleen Mary Zych, 75, of Crystal City died March 23, 2026, at Scenic Nursing Center in Herculaneum. Ms. Zych was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Festus and worked as the facilities manager. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Born June 19, 1950, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Viola (Vonderheid) and Clyde Williams.
She is survived by two children: Steven (Kirstie) Zych of Festus and Angie (Matthew) Dickens of Dallas, Texas; two brothers: Jerry Williams of Wisconsin and John (Terry) Williams of St. Louis; five grandchildren: Aaliya Zych-Awtrey, Madelyn Zych, Shawn Zych, Landon Crunk and Jonathan Crunk; and a great-grandson: Keiffer.
She was preceded in death by a son: Shawn Christopher Zych; and a sister: Jeannine Hinchcliff.
A memorial gathering is scheduled from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main St., in Festus, officiated by Pastor Gary Bookout of Crusade Baptist Temple. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
