Hugo Kramme, 94, of Cedar Hill died June 29, 2026, at his home. Mr. Kramme grew up on his family’s farm, where he learned the virtues of diligence and perseverance. Throughout his life, he worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation, driving trucks for Redhage Truck Line and co-owned and operated K & W Cartage. He was known for his tireless work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. He served in the U.S. Army and was a lifelong member of St. Martin's United Church of Christ in Dittmer. He loved spending time with his family and was proud of his grandchildren. He was a trout fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the bank even if he wasn’t catching much. He and his wife loved to dance. They shared a passion for travel, spending winters in South Texas in their later years and taking family vacations when the kids were young. They dedicated much of their time to the development of Shannondale Church Camp. He will be remembered for his generosity and dedication to the community, dependable nature and big heart. Born July 19, 1931, in Dittmer, he was the son of Ferdinand and Lizzie (Cordes) Kramme.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years: Carol Jean Weber Kramme, whom he married in April of 1955.
He is survived by three children: Donna (Dave) Eads, Dave (Denise) Kramme and Gary (Cindi) Kramme; five grandchildren: April Wagner, Bill (Heather) Kramme, Sara (Matthew) Sutorius, Craig Kramme and Cassie (Nick) Doerger; 15 great-grandchildren: Bayly, Aiden, Alex, Brylee, Eulalie, Henry, Peyton, Mariel, Charlotte, Vada, Porter, Greyson, Aleister, Owen and Layla; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by two sisters: Hazel and Florence; and a brother: Leroy.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a memorial service at noon Monday, July 6, at St. Martin's United Church Christ, 7890 Dittmer Ridge Road, in Dittmer. A graveside service will follow in St. Martin’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Martin's Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill.
