Krodinger, Donald

Donald J. Krodinger, 86, of De Soto died Jan. 26, 2026, at Scenic Nursing and Rehabilitation in Herculaneum. Mr. Krodinger was the owner of Krodinger Sheet Metal, where he was known for his craft. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 36, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in De Soto and Knights of Columbus Council 1185. He was a gifted athlete who especially loved playing softball and golf and achieved three holes-in-one throughout his years of playing. Born Sept. 26, 1939, in De Soto, he was the son of the late Max and Gertrude (Wintz) Krodinger.

He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years: Karen M. (Fisher) Krodinger of De Soto, whom he married on Feb. 11, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Festus; three children: Carol Gant of De Soto, Maria (Frankie) Elders of Festus and Don (Sheri) Krodinger Jr. of French Village; three siblings: Larry (Sue) Krodinger of De Soto, Mabel Jennings of De Soto and Ann (Carl) Oberle of De Soto; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a brother: Ralph (Liz) Krodinger; four sisters: Maxine (Andy) Piloski, Joan Armsey, Fern (Alfred, Sr.) Krueger and Gladys (Fred) Drummond; and a brother-in-law: James “Bud” Jennings.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 504 S. Third St., in De Soto, 63020, officiated by Father Rodger Fleming. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home in De Soto.
