Deborah Faye “Debbie” (Maddox) Smith, 67, of Festus died Aug. 24, 2026, at Mercy Hospice House in St. Louis. Ms. Smith was a graduate of De Soto High School. She worked at Jefferson Memorial Hospital for 40 years as a lab tech phlebotomist. She enjoyed looking for arrowheads at PPG Country Club, reading and taking car rides for sightseeing. Born Aug. 17, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen (Iler) Maddox.
She is survived by her significant other of 30 years: John Perryman; six children: Kendra Smith Henson, Cindy Smith, Billy (Amber) Perryman, Crystal (Jamie) Aubuchon, Cody Perryman and Joey Perryman; a grandson: Colton Henson; two brothers: David (Kathy) Maddox and Michael (Terry) Maddox; two sisters: Diana Hayes and Cathy (Gina) Thomas; a niece: Savanna “the princess” Amonds; and five nephews: Brian Maddox, Jerry Amonds, Christopher Rivera, Grant Amonds and Matthew Maddox.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at PPG Country Club, 2267 Hwy. 67, in Festus.
