Woolsey, Carolyn

Carolyn M. (Jahnsen) Woolsey, 60, of Cedar Hill died July 30, 2026, at her home. Mrs. Woolsey will be remembered as a loving and devoted woman who was happiest when making memories and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing, tending to her garden, crafting and caring for her chickens. She was known for her kind spirit, hardworking nature and love for those around her. Born Dec.18, 1965, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Josephine (Salamone) Jahnsen.

She is survived by her husband: John D. Woolsey II; six children: John D. (Jennifer) Woolsey III, Jessica J. (Kody) Gray, Jodi E. Woolsey, Jeni D. (Matt) Williams, Joseph P. Woolsey and Julia I. Woolsey; five grandchildren: John IV, Josey, Nora, Cade and Kolter; eight siblings: Virginia (Lou) Bohn, Steve (Denette) Jahnsen, Michael (Nancy) Jahnsen, Anna Marie (Ronnie) Short, John (Johnna) Jahnsen, Paul Jahnsen, Joe (Wanda) Jahnsen and Jennifer (Mike) Jones; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother: James Jahnsen; and a nephew: Michael Jahnsen.

Visitation is scheduled from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy. 30, in Cedar Hill. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 4696 Notre Dame Lane, in House Springs. Interment will follow in Our Lady Queen of Peace Byrnesville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel Hill Mortuary.
