Betty L. Wiedeman, 89, of Festus died Sept. 6, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Wiedeman was a retired salesperson and business owner. She was a member of De Soto Church of Christ. Born Nov. 24, 1936, in Bakersfield, she was the daughter of the late Emma Hutsel Tuggle and Claude Tuggle.
She was preceded in death by her first husband: Elmer “Pete” Whitehead; and her second husband: Ray Wiedeman.
She is survived by three children: Patty Boyer of Herculaneum, Ricky (Teresa) Whitehead of Festus and Pam Whitehead of Festus; four grandchildren: Carrie Forshee, Adam Whitehead, Cody Whitehead and Kelsey Whitehead; four great-grandchildren: Kaleigh Forshee, Lucas Forshee, Arthur Whitehead and Sofia Whitehead; four great-great-grandchildren: Kimberly Tahdooahnippah, Kinzley Blanks, McKenna Blanks and Myles Forshee; a sibling: Helen Pointer of Swartz Creek, Mich.; and many other family members and friends.
She also was preceded in death by three siblings: Everett R. Tuggle, Claudia Strickland and Billy Tuggle; and a grandson: Brian Mathes.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, at De Soto Church of Christ, 4523 Hwy. 110, in De Soto, officiated by Don Bahr. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society.
