Dennis Sanchez, 63, of Festus died June 15, 2023 in Herculaneum. Mr. Sanchez was recently retired. He had worked as a paramedic with Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District and later as a dispatcher and paramedic for Abbott Ambulance. He was a former volunteer with the Festus and Crystal City fire departments. His hobbies included collecting old police cars, firefighter collectibles and model trains. He was a dedicated longtime member of Festus-Crystal City Elks Lodge 1721. Born June 29, 1959, in Houston, Texas, he was the son of Melecio Sanchez of Texas and the late Marcia (Field) Sanchez.
In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons: Cody Sanchez of Arizona and, Kyle Sanchez of Texas; a daughter: Krystyn Fleischauer of Texas; two brothers: Michael Sanchez and Shawn Sanchez, both of Texas; and his significant other: Debra Notbusch of De Soto.
A celebration of life will be held from 6-8 p.m. with a ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Festus-Crystal City Elks Lodge 1721. Memorials may be made to the Festus-Crystal City Elks Benevolent Trust. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel in Festus.
