Wanda Lourene Hawkins, 90, Rolla

Wanda Lourene Hawkins, 90, of Rolla, formerly of De Soto, died Oct. 15, 2025. Mrs. Hawkins was a homemaker and a program services administrator for the Jefferson and Franklin County Community Action Corporation for more than 20 years. She was a member of the St. James, Missouri First Assemblies of God and former member of the De Soto First Assemblies of God. She enjoyed fussing over her cats, making Christmas candy, crafting and cooking. Born Jan. 1, 1935, in Qulin, she was the daughter of the late Daisy Bell (Stroud) and George Homer Huggins. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Everett Mercer and James W. Vinson Sr.

She is survived by a husband of 27 years: James L. Hawkins of Rolla; a daughter: Sheryl (Melvin) Arnhart of Festus; four sons: George (Mary) Vinson of Rolla, James W. (Estella) Vinson Jr. of Shelbina, Paul (Sheila) Vinson of Bunn, N.C. and Kerry (Tracy) Vinson of Herculaneum; two sisters: Daisy Arlene (Leonard) Fisher of De Soto and Norma Eddlyn (the late Richard) Whitmer of Poplar Bluff; 20 grandchildren: Amber Marie, Amber Nicole, Augusta, Bill, Charla, Cristy, Darlene, Dawn, Emma, Gary, Hedwig, Juliana, Julie, Kerry, Kyle, Nicholle, Rick, Robert, Thomas and Timothy; and 54 great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Mina Lee Moore; three brothers: Eugene, Olen and infant Lehmon L. Huggins; and an infant son: Randall Lee Vinson.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 20, at Jones Funeral Home, 200 South Meramec, St. James. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Jones Funeral Home, with Rev. Mick Thrasher officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Qulin Cemetery in Qulin. Memorials may be made the First Assembly of God in St. James. Arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
