Linda Lee Ramey, 76, of Festus died Jan. 18, 2016, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mrs. Ramey was a case worker for the Jefferson County Division of Family Services and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she was a longtime soloist, choir member and senior citizen minister. Born Aug. 26, 1939, in Crystal City, she was the daughter of Goergia Ann (Carr) Courtois of Crystal City and the late Joseph M. “Blackie” Courtois.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband: John J. Ramey Sr.; two daughters: Lynn (Scott) Weiss of Crystal City and Lea (Mark) Durand of Festus; two sons: John (Nikki) Ramey Jr. of Festus and Randy (Lisa) Ramey of Festus; eight grandchildren: Jenna Ramey, Kasey Bartlett, Dylan Durand, Lauren Shelton, Joe Ramey, Chris Ramey, James Weiss and Kelley Wiess; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister: Yvonne “Shelby” (the late Francis) LaBrayere; and a brother: Larry Courtois.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 W. Main, in Festus. A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, at the funeral home, officiated by Brother Matt Culbertson. Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Faith Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home.
