John Edward Herman Sr., 73, of De Soto died May 9, 2018, at his home. Mr. Herman was a mould injector operator. He enjoyed playing cards, puzzle books, video games and spending time with his family. Born Sept. 18, 1944, in St. Louis, he was the son of the late J.C. and Margaret (Dreste) Herman.
He is survived by his wife: Carol (McClanahan) Herman of De Soto; one son: John (Jennifer) Herman Jr. of Pevely; two daughters: April (Jeffrey) Hirtz of St. James and Krystal (Matthew) Little of De Soto; one brother: Robert (Kathy) Herman of Texas; three sisters: Barbara Meyer of De Soto, Rose (Richard) Sheets of Florissant and Margaret Barnett of Hillsboro; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Charles Herman.
Funeral services will be private. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home, De Soto.
