James Rogers Ross, 87, of Wappapello died Dec. 30, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. Mr. Ross was a welder who enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and camping. Born Oct. 15, 1930, in Caruth, he was the son of the late Pauline Nix and Hugh Ross.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy (Hayden) Ross; three sons: Jimmy (Beth) Ross of De Soto, Paul (Kim) Ross of St. Louis and Ricky (Karen) Ross of De Soto; two daughters: Marilyn (Andy) Green of Festus and DeRonda (Jodi) Krug of Ste. Genevieve; a brother: Raymond (June) Ross of Branson; a sister: Lavonne Lillard of Festus; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Bill Ross.
Visitation is at 10 a.m. and a funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Mahn Funeral Home, 900 North Main St., in De Soto, Pastor Carl McKalip officiating. Burial is in the Calvary Cemetery in De Soto. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home.
