Hubert VanHorn, 95, of Arnold died Jan. 8, 2020, in Arnold. Mr. VanHorn worked for the local UFCW 655 Butchers and Meat Packers Union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Born May 3, 1924, in Bunney, Ark., he was the son of the late Alonzo and Mattie Belle (Turner) VanHorn.

He is survived by his wife of 76 years: Glenda (Rogers) VanHorn of Arnold; two children: Jerry (Sherrie) VanHorn of Orland Park, Ill. and Pattie Murphy of Arnold; four siblings: Viola Bazzill of Starkville, Miss., Buddy VanHorn of Barnhart, James VanHorn of Arnold and Lonnie VanHorn of San Antonia, Texas; four grandchildren: Renee (Brian) Smith of Burlington, Iowa, Alicia VanHorn of St. Louis, Heather (James) Murphy of Eureka and Shawna (Jake) Castro of Alamogordo, N.M.; nine great-grandchildren: Robert Schmidt of Pacific, Nadia Clark of Eureka, Trevor Morgan of Eureka, Bella Clark of Eureka, Troy Morgan of Eureka, Treydin Ostrander of Eureka, Ruth Smith of Burlington, Iowa, Kali Castro of Alamogordo, N. M. and Kailyn Castro of Alamogordo, N. M.

He was preceded in death by five siblings: Bearl VanHorn, Veril VanHorn, Sybil Wells, Bessie McCoy, and LouAnn VanHorn.

A private celebration of life is planned for March 21, 2020.
