Francis Leo (Frank) Meyer, 93, of Arnold died Nov. 26, 2021, in St. Louis. Mr. Meyer owned and operated the Arnold Nursery for more than 35 years. He was a Catholic and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater during the World War II era. He was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan, and his passions were gardening, pinochle and spending time with family and friends. Born May 17, 1928, in Alton, Ill., he was the son of the late Mary (Kirn) and Charles Meyer.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years: Elizabeth (Toomey) Meyer of St. Louis; six children: Steven (the late Pamela) Meyer, David (Susan) Meyer, Joseph (Susan) Meyer, Susan (Richard) Purdy, Mary (Steven) Ehlmann and Janet (Chris) Basil; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and four siblings.
Visitation is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. followed by funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at St. David Catholic Church, 2334 Tenbrook Road, in Arnold. Burial is in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Arrangements are under the direction of Kutis Funeral Home in south St. Louis County.
