Doris Elizabeth (Pink) Brutcher, 67, of House Springs, died Nov. 17, 2017, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis County. Mrs. Brutcher was a CNA and worked at several nursing homes. She was an author, writing poetry and short stories about her faith and family experiences. During her healthier years, she and her husband opened their home to many family members and enjoyed helping friends, relatives and strangers when ever possible. She was a seamstress and a great cook, loved the outdoors and nature and enjoyed family gatherings and holidays. She had a fun sense of humor mixed with mischievousness and her faith in God was always strong. Born Nov. 1, 1950, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Sylvia “June” Pink-Hunter of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Arnold, and the late George Pink. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Brutcher Jr.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three children: Randall (Wendy) Brutcher of Blackwell, Angela (Delbert) Horn of De Soto and Pamela Marlow of De Soto; three sisters: Carol Pink of Cuba, Sylvia Sittner of House Springs and Laura Pink of Crestview, Fla.; a brother: Elliot Pink of High Ridge; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Al and Christine Rowden; and her stepfather of 32 years: Ivan Hunter.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at Fenton Crossings Bible Chapel, 855 Gregory Lane, in Fenton. Photos may be viewed and and condolence messages left at www.stlouis.cypresspointecremation.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Cypress Pointe Cremation.
