David Pedroli, 80, of Imperial died Feb. 12, 2021, surrounded by his family. Mr. Pedroli retired in 2002 after a 40-year career at National and Schnucks grocery stores. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and loved traveling, gardening and all things outdoors, especially time spent at Legends Duck Club, Louie’s farm, and elk hunting in Colorado. He touched everyone with his contagious spirit for life and passion for hunting and fishing. In 1992, he won the Lexus International Black Marlin Fishing Classic in Cairns, Australia. He grew up on “The Hill” neighborhood in St. Louis, the son of the late Ambrose Pedroli and Jean (Colombo) Moore.
He is survived by his wife: Debbie (Schlipp) Pedroli, who he claimed was the ‘best catch of his life’; four children: Christina (Kevin) Reilly, Christy (Johnny) Barker, Missy (Marc) Borchardt and Robert (Kristy) Pedroli; seven grandchildren: Shea (Hunter) Newton, Alice Barker, Rachel Barker, Brooke Borchardt, Riley Borchardt, Natalie Borchardt and Matthew Pedroli; one sibling: Leslie (Dan) Barker; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister: Janet (Jim) Wiseman.
Visitation is from 9 -10:45 a.m., followed by funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church on The Hill, 5130 Wilson Ave., in St. Louis. Private burial will take place in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation at www.rmef.org.
