Caleb Matthew Douglas, 28, of Minneola, Kan., formerly of Festus, died Dec. 20, 2017, in Dodge City, Kan. Mr. Douglas was a customer service technician for AT&T and a volunteer firefighter in Minneola who had worked with the Linn, Festus, and Hematite fire departments. A graduate of Festus High School and Linn State Technical College, he loved animals and was an avid Mustang auto enthusiast. Born Dec. 15, 1989, in Crystal City, he was the son of Lea Ann (Churchill) and Denny Douglas of Festus.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife: Sarah (Benton) Douglas; two daughters: Natalie Marie Douglas and Callea Ann Douglas; a son: Oliver Lee Douglas; a brother: Tyler Douglas of Pevely; a sister: Ashley Douglas of Festus; his grandparents: Grace and Charles Douglas of Festus; and his parents-in-law: Marilyn and Craig “Steve” Benton of Linn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: late Addie and George Churchill.
Visitation is scheduled from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Vinyard Funeral Home, 616 West Main, in Festus. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home, Brother John Weaver officiating. Burial is in the Shepherd Hills Cemetery in Barnhart.
