Betty Jane Sloss, 55, of De Soto died Feb. 1, 2021, at her home. Ms. Sloss enjoyed sewing, dining out and vacationing. She loved spending time with family and especially adored babysitting Nicholas. She was born Nov. 6, 1965, in De Soto, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Opal (Griggs) Sloss. She was preceded in death by her fiancé: Scott Ed Whitmore.
She is survived by a brother: Donnie (Melissa) Sloss of De Soto; a sister: Carol (Rick) Dalton of De Soto, a niece: Trisha (Jimmy) Ruma of De Soto; three nephews: Brian Sloss of Arnold, Matthew (Danielle) Dalton of St. Louis and Brandon (Amanda) Sloss of Bonne Terre; and eight great nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Harry Lee Sloss and Gary Lynn Sloss; two sisters: Sharon Whaley and Patricia Sloss; and her beloved dog, Boots.
A private burial service will take place at Peaceful Ridge Cemetery in De Soto at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Mahn Funeral Home in De Soto.
