The League of Watershed Guardians group is seeking volunteers from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 6) to help remove tires from the unnamed creek that flows into the Meramec River near Hwy. 21 west of Arnold.

“Tires, tires, and more tires are coming down this creek,” said organizer Brian Waldrop, co-chair of Arnold Stream Team 211 and member of the League of Watershed Guardians Stream Team 5168. “Please come and help with what seems like a never-ending supply of discarded tires.”

Waldrop said there’s more than 500 old tires to remove from the area.

Volunteers are asked to gather by 8:30 a.m. at Ridgewood Middle School, 1401 Ridgewood School Road, which is off Hwy. 141 near Hwy. 21 west of Arnold.

For more information, contact Waldrop at 314-606-0755 or Bernie Arnold at 314-956-2101.
