2026 Twin City Area Community Profile

Copies of the 2026 Twin City Area Community Profile are available at Crystal City Hall, the Crystal City Public Library, Festus City Hall, the Festus Public Library, Leader World Headquarters in Festus and the Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce office.

Leader Publications’ Twin City Area 2026 Community Profile magazine is out now. The free, 60-page area guide offers a comprehensive overview of Crystal City and Festus history, business, community, education and health.

The magazine was produced in collaboration with the Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce.

Leader Publisher Peggy Scott said the magazine is a fundraiser for the chamber.

“A portion of every ad that was sold into the magazine goes to support the work of the Chamber of Commerce,” she said.

The Twin City Area Community Profile was first published in 2025, Scott said.

“The first one was very well received in the community; it was a great fundraiser for the chamber. So, the chamber and the Leader decided a second one was a good idea,” she said.

This time around, Scott said there is a lot of new and exciting content about the area that awaits readers.

“Some of the content has stayed the same; we still have parks, and we still have schools so that information is included in the magazine again for people who are new to the community and people who are visiting,” she said. “But we also have throughout the magazine new stories that people are going to find very interesting about our community. If you have read the first year’s magazine, the second year’s magazine will have something new in it.”

Among the new stories in this year’s magazine are a campaign to build a new Black history museum and the planned demolition of the Sacred Heart School.

Scott said this year’s magazine also features a two-page restaurant guide and factoids about the history of the Twin Cities. She added a business directory is included in the magazine that lists members of the chamber.

The cover photo of the magazine features the aurora borealis shining above the historic barn at Larry G. Crites Park in Festus.

Festus resident Monica AuBuchon captured the unusual sight in November 2025.

“People are going to wonder if it’s real, and it is,” Scott said.

Scott also said copies of the magazine are available at Crystal City Hall, the Crystal City Public Library, Festus City Hall, the Festus Public Library, Leader World Headquarters in Festus and the Twin City Area Chamber of Commerce office.
