Worship in the Park organizers said they are considering holding two events per year.

Thousands attended the fourth annual Worship in the Park event Saturday at Larry G. Crites Memorial Park in Festus.

Event organizer Kim Rushing said the event went amazingly. “A lot of people want two events because they don’t want to wait until next year,” she said.

Rushing said they are considering holding two events per year. She said people also asked if the event could be held for two days instead of one.

The event had several scheduled performers including Canaan Baca, Oak Bridge Community Church, Psalms of David, Zach & Adam, and Radiant Life Church. DJ Integrity emceed the event.

She said there were people who drove from Arkansas and Kansas City for the event.

Rushing said they are planning to potentially shorten the band lengths next year. They are currently trying to secure a date for next year’s event.

“Personally, this event (had) the love from all walks… all of us together; everybody was happy,” she said.

The event is organized each year by Kim and Adam Rushing. This year, the Rushings received a $10,000 grant from the Festus Tourism Commission to help put on the Worship in the Park festival.
