Thomas Holbrook wants Missouri residents to have another choice.
As the Libertarian candidate in the 4th Congressional District election, he stands as a third option for those who do not wish to vote for the Democratic or Republican candidates.
“People tend to forget when they’re looking at their favorite brand of soda, they really can’t pick between Coke or Pepsi,” Holbrook said. “There’s always R.C. Cola. You have more than two choices on the ballot.”
Holbrook works in civilian contracting, a field where he says he has come to understand the dangers of unchecked bureaucracy.
“I noticed that, you know, things that could be changed in a moment’s notice for the better, was stymied by, well, you have to follow the chain. You have to respect the chain of command,” he said.
Holbrook’s main policy concerns lie in preventing gerrymandering, which he’d achieve by introducing a bill to stop redistricting between censuses, granting citizens the right to remove elected officers and removing tariff powers from the president.
“I think it’s time that citizens be granted an additional power of being able to keep their nationally elected officials in check,” Holbrook said.
He also opposes TikTok bans, trade wars, school choice vouchers and book bans. He is in support of developing cryptocurrency and legalizing marijuana.
