Two school plays will be held this weekend – one today (March 23) at St. Joseph Catholic School in Imperial and the other one today through Sunday (March 23-25) at Hillsboro High School.
Hillsboro High will hold its spring musical, Agatha Christie’s “The Hollow,” at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the theater at the school, 123 Leon Hall Parkway.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. The play is directed by Stephanie Williams.
The cast includes Samantha Grant, Branden DeRousse, Ashton Andrews, Josie Moore, Aaron Johnston, Michael Cox, Brendan Gillespie, Grace Boyster, Madi Broyles, Faith Weaver, Lawrence Gillespie and Michael Boschert.
Technical director is Leigh Kalista, stage manager is Hunter Crisel and assistant stage manager is Georgia Hollingsworth.
The play is adapted from Christie’s book of the same name and is described as an unhappy game of romantic follow-the-leader that explodes into murder one weekend at The Hollow, home of Sir Henry and Lucy Angkatell.

St. Joseph Catholic School, 6020 Old Antonia Road, will stage the musical, “The Little Mermaid” at 6 p.m. today in the school gymnasium. The production is directed by Alyssa Kapp, St. Joseph’s music teacher. Students in grades five through eight will take part in the show.
Cost is $3 for students and $5 for adults. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m.
