Fox High School will crown its 2019 Warrior Idol on Thursday, Feb. 21, after seven performers compete for the title. The public is invited to the event, which will be held at Rickman Auditorium, 747 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the competition is slated to start at 7 p.m.
Tickets may be purchased for $5 in advance or $8 the night of the competition. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Fox High choir department.
This year’s finalists are Mateo Blumel, Gabby Isaacson, Mady Kleinschrodt, Makena Norris, Kassidy Raney, Ashley Slattery and Alexandra Svrckova. The evening also will include a performance by 2018 Warrior Idol winner Carlin Doherty and other surprise guests.
The 2019 finalists will compete in two rounds for guest judges Mike Alexander, lead singer for Dance Floor Riot; Michele Ralston, the front woman for New Crime Theatre; and Shamar Jordan, a vocalist and pianist for Dance Floor Riot.
Amond Prater, who was Fox High’s Teacher of the Year last school year and the school’s former wrestling coach, will host the event. Prater currently is the wrestling coach at Fontbonne University.
