Arnold Police arrested a 65-year-old man, who is believed to be homeless, for allegedly stealing four Apple iPads that were delivered to Meramec Dermatology, 3783 Vogel Road. The man also allegedly resisted arrest and was in possession of a substance suspected to be methamphetamine, police reported.
The man was arrested on May 7 when he was in Xist Fitness, 3823 Vogel Road. The man allegedly attempted to pull away from the officer while being arrested, and the officer allegedly found meth while searching the man, the report said.
Surveillance video allegedly showed the man taking an Amazon package of iPads from the dermatologist office at about 2:20 p.m. April 28. An officer identified the suspect from prior encounters with the man, who is frequently seen around Vogel Road, according to the report.
The iPads were valued at $996, and as of May 16, the items have not been recovered, the report said.
Depending on results of the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for stealing, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
