About $1,000 in tools recently was stolen from a home in the 8600 block of West Shore Drive in the Hillsboro area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Between Feb. 25 and Feb. 28, someone forced open the front door and stole Bostitch tools, including a 24-volt hammer drill, a router and a roofing gun, the report said.
It looked like there were tool marks around the lock on the door, and the lock was damaged.
In addition, the victim found his back sliding glass door was off the track and leaning against a table in his living room, according to the report.
The stolen tools had been in the home’s attached garage, the report said.
None of the stolen tools had been recovered and no arrests had been made as of Monday (March 10), said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
