Arnold Police have identified two suspects believed to be involved in a shoplifting incident and vehicle accident at the Home Depot, 3865 Vogel Road. However, investigators are trying to identify a second woman, reportedly seen with the suspects, police reported.
Officers believe a 35-year-old Hillsboro man and 33-year-old De Soto woman ran away with a second woman after a 2004 Cadillac Escalade they were traveling in crashed into a light pole near the store’s parking lot exit. The man was identified by a Home Depot employee, and an officer is familiar with the female suspect, the report said.
Before the accident, the man allegedly stole two chainsaws from the business, but he dropped them outside of the store when confronted by a Home Depot employee. The chainsaws are valued at $796, according to the report.
After dropping the chainsaws, the man ran to an SUV that the two women were inside. The Escalade then sped toward the parking lot exit, before hitting a light pole and the three were allegedly seen running from the scene, the report said.
As of Sept. 13, no one had been arrested, and the second woman had not been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the theft or accident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
