Stephen Joseph Hollowell, 28, of Pevely has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. He violated the terms of probation he received following guilty pleas to nine felonies in 2021 and 2022, court records show.
Jefferson County Div. 5 Circuit Judge Victor J. Melenbrink on Jan. 23 revoked Hollowell’s probation and sentenced him to prison. Hollowell was arrested Nov. 26 by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, which is seeking charges against him for possession of a controlled substance, driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving and driving with a revoked license, according to court documents.
Court records do not show if the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has filed charges against Hollowell for the November 2023 arrest. However, Hollowell admitted on Dec. 20 to violating the terms of his probation and then was sentenced in January, court records said.
In December 2021, Hollowell pleaded guilty to three charges of felony possession of a controlled substance, two charges of tampering with a motor vehicle and one charge of tampering with evidence. He had been arrested five times between June 2019 and July 2020 in Pevely, Cedar Hill, Hillsboro and Imperial, according to court documents.
Hollowell was sentenced to five years in prison for each drug and motor vehicle tampering charge and four years for tampering with evidence. The sentences were to be served concurrently, or at the same time, but the sentences were suspended and he was placed on five years’ probation, court records show.
In November 2022, Hollowell pleaded guilty to felony charges of delivering a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, assault and resisting arrest. He had been arrested three times in Pevely between August 2021 and April 2022, according to court documents.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for each of the drug charges and four years for the assault charge and resisting arrested charge. Those sentences were ordered to be served concurrently with each other, but they were to be served consecutively with the sentences he received in 2022 for a total of 15 years, court records show.
However, the sentences in 2022 were suspended, and he was placed on five years’ probation, according to court documents.
