A motor home similar to this one recently was stolen from outside a home in the De Soto area.

A motor home recently was stolen from outside a home in the 11000 block of Castle Ranch Road in the De Soto area, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Between 10 a.m. June 27 and 11 a.m. June 29, someone stole the approximately 35-foot-long tan 1999 Ford Georgie Boy Cruise Master motor home, which is valued at $30,000 the report said.

It looked like the culprit crawled through a broken window on the motor home to get inside, and a plastic tarp and duct tape that had been used to keep water out of the broken window was found in the driveway where the motor home had been parked, according to the report.

The damage to the window previously had been reported to the Sheriff’s Office, the report said.

The victim told deputies that he is a caretaker at the house where the motor home was parked. A neighbor has security cameras and said he would review footage to see if there was anything that would help with the investigation, according to the report.

As of Thursday (July 2), the motor home had not been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests, said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.

He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
