A lockbox with an unknown amount of money inside was stolen from the Express Mart gas station, 4635 Gravois Road, in House Springs. It looked like someone shattered a window to gain access to the lockbox, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On Nov. 28, an employee arrived at the gas station and discovered the broken window and the missing lockbox. The lockbox was on a shelf near the window, so investigators do not believe anyone entered the convenience store but instead just reached inside to grab it, the report said.
The cost to repair the window was estimated at $500, the report said.
As of Dec. 1, the lockbox had not been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, spokesman Grant Bissell said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
