Arnold Police arrested a 24-year-old Granite City, Ill., man for allegedly stealing Pokemon cards from the Walmart store, 2201 Michigan Ave. The man was arrested after he was found outside the nearby Kohl’s department store, 2150 Michigan Ave., police reported.
At about 6:20 p.m. April 6, the man allegedly used the self-checkout lane to scan an item valued at $7. However, he left the store with Pokemon cards worth $165, the report said.
A Walmart employee stopped the man in the parking lot to try to recover the cards, but the man ran away. A short time later, officers found the suspect at the Kohl’s store, and he allegedly had the stolen cards, which were returned to Walmart, according to the report.
The man was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and issued a summons to appear in Arnold Municipal Court for stealing, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.
