Hazardous materials were found at a home in the 1600 block of Kirkham Drive in Arnold after a 54-year-old man who lived there was found dead. The man appeared to have died of natural causes, authorities reported.
Arnold Police were called to the home at 12:03 p.m. Sept. 5 after family members discovered the man had died, a report said.
“Items with pyrotechnic capabilities” were found in the home, and the St. Louis County Police Bomb and Arson Unit were called to the home to investigate. The unit removed a few of the items from the home, St. Louis County Police spokesman Benjamin Granda said.
Granda said the items posed no threat to anyone.
