Arnold Police are investigating the theft of a Torch Electronics gaming machine from the Gulf gas station, 501 Jeffco Blvd. The gas station’s front glass door was shattered, and two men were allegedly seen in surveillance video loading the machine and cigarette cartons into an SUV, police reported.
At about 4 a.m. Feb. 19, surveillance video showed three men drive to the gas station in a dark colored Chevrolet SUV. The men allegedly used an unknown object to smash the door, the report said.
Two of the men were allegedly seen loading the machine into the SUV, which then left the gas station and traveled north on Jeffco Boulevard into St. Louis County. The machine was recovered by St. Louis County Police on Feb. 20 in the area of Tonkins Drive, according to the report.
The machine was damaged, and it appeared money was stolen from it. The approximate value of the machine is $8,500, but Arnold Police did not know how much money was taken from the machine or how much it would cost to repair the damage, the report said.
An approximate cost to repair the gas station door and value of the stolen cigarettes also were not available, according to the report.
As of Feb. 24, none of the stolen money or cigarettes had been recovered, and no suspects had been identified, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said. He asks anyone with information about the burglary to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
