Jason J. Hardman, 39, of Fenton has been sentenced to eight years in prison following felony drug convictions and probation violations, according to court papers.
On Jan. 8, Jefferson County Div. 4 Circuit Judge Brenda Stacey revoked Hardman’s probation and executed an eight-year prison term for drug trafficking and a five-year term for possession of a controlled substance he previously had been sentenced to. The two terms will be served concurrently, or at the same time, court records said.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Lindsay E. Whalen handled the cases.
In December 2012, Hardman, formerly of Barnhart and Dittmer, was found in Jefferson County with more than 30 grams of methamphetamine, the probable-cause statement said.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced in November 2013 to eight years in prison. However, he was released in April 2014 after completing a treatment program, the sentence was suspended and he was placed on five years’ probation, court documents indicate.
Hardman violated his probation on Aug. 14, 2016, when he was found in Jefferson County in possession of a controlled substance. He pleaded guilty to the charge in April 2017 and the eight-year term was executed, to be served concurrently, with a five-year prison term he was sentenced to for the possession charge from the 2016 incident. He again was released early, in July 2018 after completing a treatment program, and he was placed on five years’ probation, according to court records.
However, he violated the probation yet again, and Stacey executed the previous two prison terms.
Hardman previously was convicted of felony drug possession tied to a Sept. 2006 incident in Ste. Genevieve County, according to court records.
Hardman currently is in the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in Bonne Terre.
