Laminia Holt, 26, of the Fenton area has been charged for allegedly shooting and killing her 51-year-old father outside her Jefferson County home. She is being held this morning, May 24, in the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro without bond, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Charles Holt of St. Louis County died Sunday night, May 22, after he was found suffering from a gunshot wound outside the home in the 100 block of Hartford Court in the Jefferson County portion of Fenton, the report said.

The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Laminia Holt on Monday, May 23, with first-degree murder, a class A felony punishable by 10 to 30 years or life in prison, and armed criminal action, an unclassified felony punishable by three to 10 years in prison, court documents show.

The Sheriff’s Office got a call at approximately 11:50 p.m. Sunday about the shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Charles Holt lying in front of the house after he reportedly was shot with a 9mm semi-automatic gun. He was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to the probable-cause statement in the case, surveillance video showed Charles Holt walking away from Laminia Holt, who was standing in the driveway. Charles Holt turned around when he got near the home’s front porch, and his daughter walked toward him with her arms raised in a shooting position and fired the gun one time, shooting him in the torso, the report said.

Court records do not list a lawyer for Laminia Holt.
