Eureka Police are investigating a report that a man and woman allegedly worked together to steal two drones worth a combined $798 from Walmart, 131 Eureka Towne Center Drive. The police received the report from a Walmart employee on March 15, but the early-morning theft occurred in February, Capt. David Wilson said.
An officer was shown surveillance video from 1:30-2 a.m. Feb. 11, which showed a man and woman enter an aisle containing drones. The video appears to show the woman acting as a lookout as the man forces a drone out of a secured cabinet and puts it into a shopping cart, the report said.
The man and woman later returned to the aisle, and the man allegedly took a second drone, according to the report.
The two then forced open a door to the outside, which was locked at the time, and the man allegedly removed the drones from a shopping cart and put them into a trunk of a Honda SUV, which the couple drove away in, the report said.
Police reported that the man and woman are both white. The man was wearing a dark-colored hat, jacket and pants and a light-colored shirt. The woman was in dark clothing and had a short haircut, according to the report.
As of March 28, the man and woman had not been identified, and the drones had not been recovered, Wilson said.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
